The Redbirds Finish Regular Season on Top!

Hopefully in two weeks I'm paying homage to this computer and posting a video of me throwing it in a wood chipper. For now, however, I'll just share my latest productions as the Illinois State baseball team wrapped up regular season play by clinching a share of its first ever Missouri Valley Conference Championship. I designed a splash page, masthead, and rotating banner ad for use on GoRedbirds.com to congratulate the team..
 

New and Different...Kevin Tokarski TwitterView

Kevin Tokarski and I recently sat down for a TwitterView with Ping!Baseball's Nick Herefordt. My GoRedbirds.com front page graphic wasn't exactly how I wanted it to turn out but it was close. I wanted to recreate the view from the Duffy Bass Field in a Hanley Ramirez Web site inspired way. I think Kevin had fun doing the TwitterView...definitely had trouble squeezing answers into 140 character responses. We had the idea to aggregate the tweets using a CoveritLive Blog - one of my favorite web tools to use. 

Wiesemeyer's Catch SportsCenter's Top Play

Illinois State left fielder Ty Wiesemeyer made a spectacular catch in Friday night's game against Wichita State and received some well-deserved recognition as the No. 1 play on SportsCenter's Top Plays and was a Web Gem on Baseball Tonight. Thanks to Lee Hall and his staff at WHOI and WEEK for covering the game at Duffy Bass Field and getting this to the folks at the worldwide leader in sports.
